How do I create a scenario?
Your Poool Dashboard allows you to edit engagement scenarios based on your targeting options (context and group). You can create a scenario by clicking on "Create a scenario" to the right of each relevant segment or group.
Within your context, choose the group (native group, custom segment or all users) to which the configuration will be applied.
Choosing the scenario type

Dynamic scenario
A typical Poool scenario, in which you can add all types of widgets, article after article. Maximum flexibility guaranteed.
Metered scenario
A classic scenario that allows you to determine the number of free articles before completely blocking the reader. It simply requires entering the "Number of free articles" before blocking.

Discovery pass scenario
A scenario that fully opens access to usually blocked articles, for a set period of time.
Configuring scenario actions
You can configure your dynamic scenario by adding the widgets you want. Details about available actions can be found in this article.

Customizing each widget
Once the widget is selected, you can customize it by clicking on the "Edit" option of your widget.
You will then discover several configuration options:
- The appearance you want to apply to your widget
- The widget configuration - which includes the redirect URL and alternative action settings
- The advanced configuration - which allows you to manage login links and post-unlock signature
- The advanced text settings - to customize the widget action texts

Scenario options
In this section, you can choose two things:
The appearance to apply to the scenario
By choosing the appearance here, it will be applied across your entire scenario.

The maximum duration of your scenario
This number indicates the maximum duration of the scenario before restart (in days). This corresponds to the time elapsed before the scenario is reset, meaning the same user goes back to action 1.
If the user has not reached the last action and the maximum journey duration is reached, their scenario is still reset.
Standard scenario vs temporary scenario
First of all, you can choose whether your scenario will always be applied (standard scenario) or if you want to limit it in time (temporary scenario).
In the second case, define the dates and times when your scenario takes effect.

Creating multiple scenarios for the same group
When you create a scenario, it is applied by default to 100% of users in the chosen segment.
You can also define two scenarios within the same context. When you activate your second scenario, you will be prompted to set up an A/B test between the two scenarios and adjust the distribution of readers between them.
Deleting a scenario
To delete a scenario, first make sure to deactivate it.
Choose "delete" in the options, then confirm your choice on the pop-in that appears.
