How to configure the action in case of no consent?
To enter a scenario, the reader of your media must have given their consent. This way, the personalization of their journey will be applied, according to the rules defined in the Dashboard.
But what happens when the user does not give their consent (CMP refusal)?
Two possible options:
- They will be blocked by a default paywall. The good news is that you can configure this action (modify the action type and its appearance) directly in the Dashboard 🎉.
- If you are using Poool's "Cookie Wall with Alternative" feature, they will be shown a cookie wall. To learn more about this feature, feel free to check out our dedicated collection.
In this article, we will focus on the first option: how to configure the default action directly in the Dashboard.
Activation at the context level
The action configuration is done at the level of the active contexts in your Dashboard.
Select the "consent" option.

If you do not see this option in your settings, feel free to contact your Customer Success Manager or the support team so we can enable it for you.
The "do not explicitly request user consent" option is active by default.

You will then be able to configure: the action type and the appearance to apply to it.
Two configuration options
At this level, choose the default action and the appearance you want to apply to it.

For the default actions, you can choose widgets that are more or less blocking for your readers:
- Free article
- Auto unlock / Invisible unlock
- Subscription / URL discovery
In our example here, we choose a free article.

This setting is activated per context, so you can adapt it based on the type of context active on your site.
