How can I track the performance of the elements activated in Split?

For the initial launch phase of Split, statistics are not yet available in the Poool Dashboard.
It is therefore necessary to set up tracking in your dedicated analytics tool in order to monitor the performance of your A/B tests.

Available tracking options

Poool provides several options to ensure that the performance of Engage elements is available in your own analytics tool.
Here are the available solutions, with their associated documentation:

Available events

The indicators are the same as for other Engage campaigns.
Here are the main available events:

  • ready: when the Engage element is loaded on the page
  • seen: when the element becomes visible in the viewport
  • click: click on a button or clickable component. You can define the button ID in the dashboard settings to make it easier to identify the action
  • formSubmit: submission of a form in an Engage widget
  • destroy: click on a button or image configured to destroy the element
  • error: SDK or element error

To view the full list of available events and associated data, please refer to the official documentation:

Each event is tracked independently for each variant. It is therefore possible to directly compare the performance of versions A and B in your analytics tool.

Best practices

Each A/B test variant is considered a separate Engage element from an analytics perspective and therefore has its own slug. This slug is passed in tracking events and allows you to precisely identify which variant generated an impression, click, etc.
To better track performance, you can rely on these slugs. We therefore recommend paying close attention to them.

Example:

  • my-test-A
  • my-test-B

This allows you to easily filter and compare the performance of each variant in your analytics tool.

You should also assign an identifier (ID) to your action buttons and/or clickable elements. These IDs are included in tracking events and make interaction analysis easier.
