If you are looking for information about how to use VAST on the spot widget when creating a scenario, you are in the right place!
How do I configure VAST?
When you're setting a scenario and you want to use a spot widget, you will be asked to enter your own custom VAST URL.
To do that, go to "Settings" and then "Advertising".
You can then enter your own "Desktop VAST" and "Mobile VAST".
Is it necessary to set up a different VAST for mobiles than that of a desktop VAST?
In fact, this is a statistics matter and it depends on the campaign you want to set up, especially if you want to split mobile from desktop campaigns. In that case, the Dashboard offers you the possibility to separate the content according to your reader's device.
However, if you want to pass the same message to all your readers, regardless of the device they use, you can enter the same VAST for both desktop and mobile. In this situation, the spot widget will display the same video ad for both devices. To see statistics related to the number of spots viewed go to "Analysis" page.
If you’d like to split, in addition to the campaign, the statistical data according to the device used, you can create a specific application on the dashboard.
And in order to split your desktop from mobile users, you can also create a specific application for your mobile readers.
Creating a specific application has the advantage of differentiating the advertising video statistics for both desktop and mobile. This allows you to apply a different and consistent strategy for each device.
However, it is important to note that this app creation requires a significant update of all your scenarios. All your statistics will also be splitted into two separate apps (in addition to those concerning the video ad).
Note: If you have created a specific app to your mobile readers, go to "Settings" page and, remember to enter the same VAST twice: VAST and Mobile VAST to make sure that a reader who uses their mobile will be exposed to the right advertising campaign.
