# How to edit text of a dynamic component ?

# Core component vs. dynamic component

When you create an appearance in Access, you can choose from core or dynamic components.

Core components are fixed elements within your appearance, meaning that they will remain the same regardless of which widget you use when creating your journeys.

Conversely, dynamic components are elements that will automatically adapt to the widget you use in your journey.

Here is an example of an appearance using ${color}[#0040ff](**core components**) and ${color}[#ff0000](**dynamic components**):

Here is the preview of this appearance for a "Free article" widget:

And for a "Subscription" widget":

Each dynamic component adapts to the selected widget in the journey.

|| The "Dynamic action" component is mandatory to get data per type of widget in the "Statistics" tab of Access Dashboard.
# How to edit the text of a dynamic component
To edit the text of a dynamic component, there are 2 ways to proceed:
* in the "Messages" tab
* In the widget edition tab

### "Messages" tab

The "Messages" tab allows you to define default texts for each dynamic component and for each widget type.
First,  "Generic texts"
