# How to connect Poool Engage with GA4?

If you want to connect Poool with Google Analytics 4 (without going through GTM), here are the steps to follow.

This involves two main steps:

* Integrate the **Poool x gtag** connector into your configuration
* Set up your GA4 space and verify that the data is flowing correctly

If you load GA4 via GTM, we recommend applying the method described in this article.

# Integrating the Poool x gtag connector

Add the **Poool x GA4** connector to your Poool Engage configuration with the following line:

```
engage.config('gtagAutoTrackingEnabled', true);
```
# On the Google Analytics Dashboard side

In your GA Dashboard, declare the **custom definitions** corresponding to the information being sent.

In your GA4 board, go to the "Admin" section then select "Custom Definitions".

* Name your two definitions: event_category and event_label, and declare these same values in the "Event parameter" section.
* Choose scope => "event".
